I seek enlightenment, yes, because I don't exactly know what it is to be completely enlightened, I don't completely know how to find it. That said, I believe that enlightenment is already within me, there is no seeking to be done. Although I don't know what it is to be completely enlightened on a conscious level, I do know what it is not. For example, enlightenment is not negative. I think we can all agree on that. So, if I can work on relinquishing negativity in my life, I will have lifted away something that is in the way of my conscious awareness of my enlightened self. The only thing that is standing in the way of "my" enlightenment is "me". The "me" I think I am, the me I identify with, the me I was programmed to be. The only way to get out of the "me" trap, is to recognize that I am not who I think I am, but that I am who I seek to be (the "ideal", enlightened self). Getting rid of anything that is not a part of that ideal is my work. Nobody can teach me enlightenment, or give me the experience of it anymore than someone can show me a picture of a fruit I have never eaten and give me the experience of what it is. I must be able to experience it with my own physical sensory system. Enlightenment must come to me through my own witnessing, questioning, exploring, experiencing, i.e. my own spiritual sensory equipment. We know when something feels true or right for us, but we have forgotten how to tap into that knowledge (intuition). But, if we want to know, we simply need to learn to listen for it. This is where I see the value in exercises that sharpen our intuition, which is like a divining rod for the truth. There is no need to be impatient for enlightenment or spirituality, for it already is. It is with you and within me and within every living thing on the planet. We simply need to develop the eyes to see, the ears to hear, the consciousness to know this is true. Believe it and it is so.

It is awesome to hear of someone talking to mighty souls like Jesus and Buddha. But these masters seem to be more human in their advice than spiritual. It does'nt require a MJ or a MB to ask us to be patient. It's been 2000 years since Jesus and still we are asking the same questions that God never answered. MJ is hoping about a bright future whent the change that we are going through will be complete. From more close to an open society. But the ancient man was not monogamous. Was his society more open? And why the hell is the master talking about social inhibitions and politics of war? Can't a person be all in the confines of a closed society and still be spiritual? Why the hell MJ linked spiritual growth with evolutionary changes of human society. Spirituality is misunderstood both by the seeker and the Master.

i think you have hit the nail on the head about the immediacy we all seek today. to coin the language used by someone I know, we are after the event and the hype that goes with that but don't reaslise that it is the process that usually makes the difference. events are often catalysts for decisions, but whether those decisions result in lasting change depends on the process.

I like your point about the fact that the long-distance-view leadership is often crowded out by those wanting and offering an answer NOW.

I am a psychiatrist in the UK who often sees people who want a quick solution to 'ancient' problems. I've written a bit about this on my Blog if you are interested at it's all in the trailer and forgiveness as process. In the second link I recommend a box set of CD's from the church I go to - not something I do often, but maybe Paul Scanlon is one of the leaders you crave?

Introducing Zoe

  • Zoe contacted me after she visited this site, which was after she began having conversations with Master Buddha. She was curious if anyone else was having this experience, did some searching, and violå, she found these conversations. Following an exchange of emails and a phone conversation, we decided to post Zoe's conversations here. I welcome the opportunity to share these with you as I have my own conversations.
